Because if you're not laughing in recovery, you're not doing it right.

I am not a comedian or some kind of online journalist, nor am I anyone of any importance who has experience or knowledge of such things. I'm just an all-over-the-place bipolar alcoholic and drug addict in recovery, who created this blog to spread a little bit of laughter on the topic of recovery. Why? Because we have to remember to give ourselves a break, and that laughter (especially being able to laugh at ourselves) is the best medicine.

I think recovery from anything is honestly the most BADASS thing a person can do.

I'm not in recovery for substance abuse issues, but as someone who suffers from deppression and anxiety problems and comes from a family who make the Mitfords look like the Bradys, I love your blog. It may just be the best thing I've ever seen.

Thank you! :D

I try to put other things besides substance abuse on this blog as well, but it’s really hard to find humor-based things related to them. A lot of people are very sensitive on the topic of mental illnesses, and whenever I see tags of anxiety, ptsd or bipolar etc they’re always depressing and it shouldn’t have to be that way.

It’s almost socially unacceptable to use a satirical sense of humor, and I’ve been attacked for it on my personal blog before. But if it’s helping someone heal in their recovery or making them laugh, what can possibly be so wrong in that?
